DISCLAIMER:

I am beginning the Dramatis Personae line of posts. I want to make a few things clear:

Facts Have Been Altered – This is less to protect the innocent as damn the culpable. Nevertheless, you may or may not uncover things that you think are untrue. I don't mean in an opinion sense, as that's bound to happen, but outright fabrications and misstatements. These are, in large part, intentional.

Most of the times alterations have been made to conform reality to the necessary fiction of this blog, if that makes any sense. Many are changed to preserve identity or otherwise protect some confidence. One or two are changed for dramatic effect. Some are changed for no reason at all other than I felt like it.

None of the changes affect the essence of the story. In fact, some of the changes may even reflect a story truer to life than the raw facts would. (Thanks, Thucydides). You will, probably, not notice inconsistencies, but, if you do know me or any of these people, you will notice things that are off. This is intentional (unless it's like that situation, and you know which three of you that applies to) and is not worthy of comment. Run with it.

Comments Are Disabled – This is not to discourage commentary but to keep the posts "clean." In fact, comments are encouraged. Make them here instead. In fact, anonymous posting has been enabled here, if you need to make comments with that protection. Ask questions or for clarifications, or to point out interesting observations. These posts are for you, so I want to know what you want to know, and whether you think what I'm telling you is working. After all, I know what happened to me.

Oh boy!
Is it crazy or stalkerish that I'm excited about this?

Is it insane that I'm not looking forward to doing mine? I mean, actually, I am sortof looking forward to it, while at the same time I'm confused as where to begin. Plus, a lot of the people who read my lj I know in person, so the repetition of stuff for them will either be amusing or annoying, depending on the story.

I also like your disclaimer, I may have to do something similar since I don't want to give away TOO many details. :)
Interesting. I figure that no one would actually be interested in a Dramatis Personae of my life.
Entry 1 helps align some thing, thank you. Also, that Thin Man reference was the best thing I've read all day & I'm sorely tempted to metaquote it.
Do you dislike all dogs, or just Kitty's?

Also, how come everyone gets a nickname except Rachel and Kitty? Or are those nicknames as well?

I kind of want to do a Dramatis Personae myself, but it would be, like, six lj names and one ex, which is sort of boring.
Everyone has a nickname, or a pseudonym rather. There's one exception. It will be noted. Rachel's I had a lot of trouble with, actually.

There's a number of layers to the dog question.

I have a mild phobia of dogs. I like dogs, but if you really want to scare me, somehow involve a dog.

I live in a major city. Owing a dog is rough. It's like a child, in that you have to alter your whole life to fit around it and its needs.

The real clincher is "she likes dogs" is pretty well my ultimate turn-off. I can't quite explain this. I don't know if this is a matter of association, or subtext for some other personal preference or what. All I know is that, in cases where I have been interested in some one, that interest drops to negligible levels.

Part to that is incredibly sexist. I know no well-behaved dog that is owned by a girl. In fact, one of the most ill-trained dogs I've known got handed off from her original owner to a man, and he became one of the most amazingly well-trained dogs I've met. Maybe that's circumstance, and I've certainly known of poorly behaved dogs owned by men. It's just one of those facts locked in my mind, however, that this is the case.
That dog thing explains a lot. -No wonder my little crush on you in college never blossomed. I LOVE dogs. :)
It also may explain why my dogs are so ill-mannered. They are getting better, though, my previous dogs have always been very well trained and had great manners, but these two are from a shelter and just have SO MANY issues.
I have the same problem with wanting to do a Dramatis Personae, but only having perhaps three people to explain outside of LJ names.
